Question:

I currently have a wood stove insert and would like to replace it with a free standing wood stove that does not use the existing chimney. (I want to change the stove's location in the room). Is there such a thing as direct vent wood stoves?

Answer:

Thee may very well be but you'll need your local building authority's permit to do what you want to and make sure your insurance people know about it too.
