Question:

How much more expensive is propane heat and hot water. I am considering switching to propane from oil. This would eliminate the necessary upgrades to my oil system, chimney liner, new oil tank, new furnace; if I switched to propane. I am looking for an independant opinion.

Answer:

By the time you pay for the tank or tank rental, you probably won't be saving a whole lot. I don't even know if propane is less expensive than oil so you might be paying more. Much depends on what part of the country you live in and the availability of both.
