Love your show. My husband and I want to finish the basement in our 11 year old home. It appears to be a pretty basic basement, cement floor and walls. There is, however, some gyproc already installed. It starts at about 21 inches from the floor and comes out about 3 inches from the wall. Why do you think they left the first 21 inches uninsulated? Should we insulate this or should we just box it off?
It is not a good idea to insulate all the way to the floor so you have nothing from that level down. I would just frame and drywall from there to the floor.
