Question:

I asked about a mold problem in my mother's 50 year old house and appreciate the very quick response. I forgot to mention that she had blown in insulation in the last 5 or 6 years. Does that change your response about the mold caused by the insulation being dragged down over the years and does that change your answer to rectify it?

Answer:

If there was already even a small amount of insulation in the wall cavities there is no way a credible job of blowing more in could be done. If there was no VB over the insulation (existing or added) the mold would invade in the same way as having a non-continuous VB. The method of rectifying this remains the same.

Remember, even if you don’t do your own work around the house have to hire someone, you put yourself at a great advantage when you can intelligently discuss a project with the various trades people.
