You replies to my question to reduce noise in our basement apt. I think your suggestion of layering with gypsum board and then finishing with drywalled cieling? We have had to go into the cieling for wiring and plumbing many times over the past 3 years-enough for me not to want to drywall it. Is there a way I could do something with the suspended ceiling? You also answered a question regarding humidity in our basement. Do you have a list of contractors/handy men that work in Mississauga that I could contact to do this work for me?
Answer:
I'm not into recommending companies and people so there you'll have to do a bit more research. To properly sound proof (almost) your basement ceiling, the way I described it to you is the only successful way I know of. A suspended ceiling will do nothing for you.
