I am interested in a home that was built in 1955. It was sided with wood clapboards and in 1972 foam insulation was injected into the side walls only. It has since had styrofoam insulation and vinyl siding added to the wood clapboards. Should I be concerned about the foam insulation, and was there more than one type of insulation?
Answer:
I'd want to know what the injected foam is made of because UFFI is not something I want to be dealing with - now that I (and everybody else) knows enough about it.
