He suggested that the attic (750 sq ft), which presently has on average 8 inches of (original) insulation, be upgraded to R60 rating for maximum efficiency. It will cost $1476. to have the fibreglass insulation installed (blown). An R49 grade insulation would cost $1027. A. Is the $450 difference worth having the R60 grade or is the R49 grade quite adequate? B. What is the best insulation material? C. Are there any other considerations I should take into account before having them go ahead with the insullation?
