Can you explain what type insulation and R factor we would use to insulate our attached garage. Do we use a plastic vapour barrier over the insulation before we finish the walls.

If you want to heat the garage, its a good idea to insulate it but if you are not planning on heating, stay away from it. R-12 insulationb bats will fit betwen the studs and then 6mm poly will serve as a vapour barrier. On top of that, of course, you'll have to add some form of panel and that does it.
