Question:

I have 2 bay windows on the main floor of my home. The floor over this open area where the foundation doesn't extend below is incredibly cold in the winter. One bay window that sits on the front concrete porch pad is less cold than the other one which is open to the elements. I’ve encountered many insulation or lack there of problems in this house. Is it possible that the area under the bay window was never insulated? What would be the best way to rectify this problem?

Answer:

If you have no insulation in there, you'll be best to correct it from the inside so ;you can put in a proper vapour barrier on the heated side of it. Quite a messy job.
