Question:

I have a 2 storey cinder block / stucco home which was not insulated which leads to very cold walls in the winter. We would like to replace/cover the stucco with a stone or brick facing while also adding insulation at the same time. What is the easiest and/or most effective way to do this? Note: I have not been able to find much on this subject? Are there many companies that do this kind of work?

Answer:

You can actually do it yourself. You can strap the exterior walls, build out and aluminum cap around windows and doors and insulate with rigid foam between the straps. Following that, you can apply mortarless brick with screws. Yes, they're real bricks but a different configuration and anyone who can handle a drill, a level, a tape and a screwgun can put them up.

In the interests of retaining credibility and in fairness to all, I cannot recommend prices, people nor companies for various projects.
