Question:

Last Dec we left both vehicles in a garage. We discovered after a couple months that both vehicles were rusting quickly. It was so bad that the prop manager moved both vehicles outside for the remainder of the winter. 10 yr. ago I left a VW Camper in the garage all winter and most of the remainder of the year as well, for 10 consecutive years, and rust did not occur then. I did open the garage doors on weekend visits then and the air was changed, which did not occur this past winter. Does this make a difference?

Answer:

That garage may be sitting too far in the bushes to permit air to circulate around, never mind inside, it. Your fan idea I think is good and I'd put it on a cycle of 12 hours on and 12 off - operating during the daylight hours because of the season. I'd also want your property manager to be checking on things regularly.
