Question:

You have become the "authority" on repair and renovation in our house. I originally addressed our problem of fluctuating water temperature by turning down the toilet intake valve so that it takes almost a minute to fill the tank (both toilets). That solved the problem until we had teenagers beating us into the shower in the morning! Do you think that installing shutoff valves to the hot and cold shower supply lines would be the route to go, and leave them turned down rather than go with the shower saver? Thanks for a wonderfully entertaining and informative Saturday morning each week. Bravo to you for your support of Habitat for Humanity!

Answer:

The very best you're going to do is install the water saver shower heads. These things tend to save more than anything else I've seen on the market.
