Question:

We live in a bungalow in Navan, Ontario and we are on septic and well. We have a toilet on our main floor and when you flush it the bowl fills up to the correct level, however each morning I notice that the water level in the bowl is way down into the neck of the bowl. What might be causing this?

Answer:

Perhaps a toilet elsewhere in the house was flushed during the night and, that one being farther than six feet from the main stack, starved for air, drew the water out of the one in question. If I'm wrong on this one, you'll have to do a bit more research because no matter how you slice it, it's a ventilation problem.
