Question:

we have moisture in our bathroom ceiling. we have a ceiling fan, but it seems to melt snow on the roof and cause ice dams .we also have moisture in the outside wall.

Answer:

Is the duct for the fan inulated from the fan housing right up to the roof decking? Is the fan motor strong enough to the job right. It should be 110 CFM (cu./ft./min.). If you have water in the perimeter walls, I'm wondering about the insulation in there and the integrity of the vapour barrie on the heated side of it.
