Recently we had a water problem in the bathroom which has been repaired and all of hte water has dried. About a month later a three-foot long, narrow (1/2 inch wide) bubble has appeared in ceiling of the living room below the bathroom presumably along a seam in the drywall. I don't want to redo the entire ceiling and I am anxious that a patch will be more obvious than the line itself. I thought perhaps I could inject some white glue with a paint syringe at various points along the bubble and gently push the paint back into place along the line. The finish on the ceiling is a 'California style' and trying to match the texture and not make it glaring would be quite difficult.

YOu have a great idea but it won't work the way you imagine it. The only way I've seen these repaired properly is the one you fear.
