Question:

I am looking at putting in an oil furnace in my shop (32 x 56). What type of chimney is required? Looking at a used furnace. I have a wood stove now, with a 7" schedule 80 pipe for a chimney. Would this work? What are costs for a new chimney?

Answer:

Stay with the www and find the furnace manufacturer. Information there will tell you exactly what you need in a chimney. You'll also need a building permit so your local building authority will have a lot to say about what you install and how. After you've gone through all that, you have no choice but to talk to your home insurance rep because if you install it without all the paperwork, you may be paying insurance premiums for naught too. I'm not avoiding your question; rather, I'm trying to keep you alive and healthy as a contributing member in your community. This is an international data base so because I don't know where you are located, I can't even help you determine costs.
