Question:

I live in an apartment, 7th floor. Balcony cement floor with steel railings. I have glued down the edge of my indoor/outdoor carpeting (grass). The management says that we are rotting the cement, my floor looks the same after 20 years. Should I take it up? Only the outside edge is glued.

Answer:

This should not matter to the concrete. If there's a problem, the adhesive can be removed with a heat gun and an air hose but even that should not be necessary.
