Question:

We had my "favourite" sister-in-law over the other night and she has managed to splash two big grease spots all over our cobblestone walkway. Do you know of anything to remove olive oil from a red brick? It's right in the middle of the walk and has quite a few spatter marks around each big blob. The walk was laid last summer and not sealed with anything yet! Would a sealant help to prevent this in the future (just in case she comes to visit again)?

Answer:

I'd try WD40 on it and let it soak in for a few hours but in certain cases I've heard that it won't work. The only other thing I know of is the sun, time and more discretion in selecting guests.
