Question:

The exterior siding of our new home (in Ottawa, ON) is partially covered in styrofoam insulation and stucco. Does the building code set a minimum depth/thickness of styrofoam requirement? If yes, how thick. If no, what is considered typical.

Answer:

Because I never depend on building codes due to their very minimal standards, I have no idea what they would demand. Besides, these codes change from on municipality to the next so the only way to be sure you have the right information is to get in touch with your local building authority.
