My eavestrough downspout is attached to big O plastic drainage pipe that goes underground to the middle of my lawn. It keeps caving in a hole and I wondered if there is anything that I can do to correct this or do I need to just cut off the big O at the downspout? I need to dig up the end anyway to repair the lawn, so if putting gravel or attaching something to the end of the big O drainage pipe would help, this would be a good time to do it.
Answer:
Being as hour have to dig it up, you could try digging a hole at least 3 ft. deep and at least 4X4' and fill that with gravel up to within 8" of grade and then add soil and sold over that. This is sort of a mini dry well and it will probably work better than anything other than leading the big O right out to the street.
In the interests of retaining credibility and in fairness to all, I cannot recommend prices, people nor companies for various projects.
Remember, even if you don’t do your own work around the house have to hire someone, you put yourself at a great advantage when you can intelligently discuss a project with the various trades people.
