Question:

My problem is there is two different looks to my driveway. Apparently when the second truck load of cement came, the first batch of cement was ready to be rinsed. The second truck was still too wet, and more aggregrate was exposed for about the first two feet of the second batch. It looked terrible, and the contractor agreed. He did take up the driveway and redo it, but not completely. He stated that it was all the truck could hold, so a pad was left in front of the front step that is about 8'X8' feet. the sidewalk looks ok, but the spot in front of the porch does not have as much agg. exposed. I was told it will match later. Can this be repaired, or does it also have to be removed and redone? If so how well will it match later?

Answer:

It sounds like there were two different mixtures applied and the colour difference in that case will show forever. There should also be no more than 45 between pours. If there isn't, you'll end up not only with two colours but also an unstable joint between the two.
