We recently purchased a home where the previous owners installed 1" x 1" ceramic tiles up the stairway (both risers and runs) and into the second floor hallway. In additon they replaced the baseboard in the second floor hallway with the same 1" tile. We wish to remove the tile and prep the area for carpeting. What would be the best and easiest/quickest way to do this?
Answer:
The tiles will be removed with a small prybar and the surface smoothed off to accept whatever carpet you wish to install. These steps and risers may never again be paintable.
