Question:

I live in a condo in Hamilton ont and happen to be on the board we recently had some foundation work done and the contractor repaired the wall crack with foundation coating and put 6 mil plastic over it.note this crack is 1/4 in size and it's a concrete wall. is this a approved method of repair? shoud we of had a building permit?

Answer:

I am not familiar with the product you mention but a 1/4" crack will take more than a patch and 6 mm poly. I do not believe a building permit is necessary for a repair such as this.

In the interests of retaining credibility and in fairness to all, I cannot recommend prices, people nor companies for various projects.

Remember, even if you don’t do your own work around the house have to hire someone, you put yourself at a great advantage when you can intelligently discuss a project with the various trades people.
