I recently moved into an apartment, and there is a horrible film on the floor of the tub, apparently from a "glued in" tub mat. I have used Bleach, assorted bathroom cleaners,- nothing will take this off and it is rather repulsive. Any info you can provide on how I can successfully get rid of this (re-finishing is NOT an option - it is too costly, and the landlord won't do it as he sees 'nothing wrong' with the tub...) Is there a product I've missed? Something that will get rid of this seemingly invincible glue residue?

That is the original colour of the tub you're looking at and it will forever look different because the rest of the tub was scrubbed with an abrasive cleaner and the footprint of the decals wasn't.
