I have a mahogany piano, which I've inherited some 15 years ago. Most of the time, to protect its finish, I've kept it covered with a vinyl, flannel-backed tablecloth. Mom always used lemon oil on it but over the years I have used other products, many of the spray-on-wipe-off variety; when I went to use lemon oil again, I found that after I wiped the lemon oil off, there are many 'drip-type' marks which have left a mess on the piano. Could you please let me know how to try to restore the piano to its original finish?
Answer:
Even a light dabbing with varsol will take that off because it is only oil and varsol does quite a number on that.
