I have a round table that is 42" across (with pedestal base)and it is too small for 5 people and dishes. I'm thinking of cutting another disc to attach to the top to make it bigger. What would a reasonable size be and what type of material would you recomend. (It doesn't have to be pretty as I'm going to keep it covered.) Thanks!
Answer:
You can use 3/4" plywood and make it up to 60" but then make sure you introduce a 2" diameter lazy suzan to the middle of it. The 60" diameter ensures that only 9" is cantelevered all the way around.
