Question:

For some reason when it is windy outside, even with the garage door shut, my entrance to my garage attic gets sucked up into my attic and mis-sets it in the hole where it came out of. At first I thought I had an intruder getting in to my garage attic cause I knew it was shut when I left it. I know now after a very windy day, that is whats causing it. Why is this happening and what can I do to stop it? Is this abnormal? We have the ridge vent that extends completely across top of roof. Our house is only 2 years old.

Answer:

I've seen this happen when there was no insulation in the house attic and the wind was able to blow up into there. If you have insulation, just add weight to the garage attic hatch.

In the interests of retaining credibility and in fairness to all, I cannot recommend prices, people nor companies for various projects.
