Question:

I have been repairing and refinishing antiques for ten years. I can totally refurbish a piece with one exception; the mirror. I have searched the internet and libraries for info regarding the "how to's" on silvering but have come up empty.

Answer:

About 15 years ago there was an article in Popular Mechanics (I think) on how that was done. I read it but don't remember enough of it to be of any help to you. I'm sure getting in touch with them would be profitable to you.
