I'm thinking of changing my furnace filter from the regular ones to one of the airborne, micro allergen reduction or electrostatic filters. Just wondering how much better and the best type to buy? We have a mid-efficiency furnace that is 17 years old.

Before going to that expense I would want to check with my family doctor to determine what all needs to be filtered out. Not all filters, including the HEPA might fall into the parameters you need addressed.
