Have summerhouse with wood siding with newer extension on it having vinyl siding. Want to paint whole house same colour. Can vinyl siding be painted a different colour - white right now?

It certainly can but you have to be careful to use all compatible products and follow the instructions carefully. Vinyl will take a different method of preparation than wood and the paint on it may not last as well.
