A concern is the BC cedar deck just above the patio. It was added onto the house a year after the house was built and the carpenter slaughtered the vinyl siding when attaching the deck to the house. The vinyl just below the deck keeps falling off and water is able to leak through. What do I do?

If you can add and properly seal a strip of metal or vinyl flashing below the deck ledger you should be able to correct for it.
