Question:

Hi - we're wondering about painting insulbrick siding on our garage. We think it is insulbrick but it could be asbestos siding? It is blue/grey color sheeting that has a surface like shingles. It seems to be in good shape and we've heard that it is better to just paint it rather than remove it. Please let me know if you have any advice for us on this.

Answer:

Insul brick is a shingle-like texture and asbestos siding is a rigid product. If it is insulbrick, shingle paint will cover it. If it is asbestos, you might want to hire someone to remove it as it off-dusts for ever and a day and is considered a carcenogen.
