Question:

I am removing some wallpaper which is being very stuborn. I would rather avoid using a steamer because it takes a layer off of the drywall. My plan is to paint the wall when I am done. What is the most effective way to remove it?

Answer:

You're using the most effective way and it may mean that you have to follow it by giving the wall a plaster wash and then priming and painting.
