For the first time ever I am going to hire a professional to paint the interior of my home (walls and ceilngs). Other than providing the obvious - painting services - what else should the contractor provide? For example, repair of nail holes in drywall. Also, do you have any tips?

Filling nail holes and the like is normally part of the painter's job and whether it is or not should be written into the contract. Get three quotes from reliable contractors for a most satisfactory job.
