Question:

Like so many folks today and like many others on previous Saturday mornings, it's great to listen to you answer so many questions. Painting medium density fiber board. I built a cutting table for my wife using it. Because my wife is allergic to the fumes from oil based paint, I inquired about using latex paint. I chose a semi-gloss latex for the finishing coat. Over a month since I painted and the paint is very much dry to the touch, the lining my wife put in the drawers actually sticks to the bottom.

Answer:

Taking the paint off will not be a problem' the same paint store (hopefully) where you purchased it will have a relatively new biodegradable product there to do the job. I would probably go to the expense of using a 100% latex, exterior product to paint it with after that. This table will have the abuse of needles, other metal cutting tools, etc. to deal with.
