Expert Q
Question:
My house is about 30 years old. All the ceilings are stippled. Over the past few years, lines or cracks have appeared in all the ceilings that seem to mark the edge of each piece of drywall. Stipple is beginning to peel away in certain parts. I did try to "repair" the main floor level by painting the ceiling but the lines have reappeared again.
Answer:
The only way to repair drywall joints is to remove the existing tape and replace with new - a rather mess intensive project. In the interests of retaining credibility and in fairness to all, I cannot recommend prices, people nor companies for various projects.
