Question:

The previous owner of our house put linoleum on the walls of the ensuite bathroom. We removed it and all the finish is off the drywall. The paper is rough and uneven. What are my options to recover rather than removing all the drywall?

Answer:

Depending on the damage, you might just give the surface a skim coat of joint compound and then finish it whatever way you wish or you could just add drywall on top of what's there before re-finishing.
