Question:

I bought a house now I want to do Painting.I want to fill wholes,Make surface even and Paint.Look like brand new wall.

Answer:

Get yourself a 1 litre (or) bucket of 'drywall joint compound' and trowel it over the gouges and nail holes. Where you have actual cracks in the drywal, apply fibreglass mesh joint tape and then joint compound in three applications so the end product is as smooth as the rest of the wall. If you use as little joint compound (mud) as possible, you won't havea whole lot of sanding to do. Now you prime the spots that you patched and when you go to paint each individual wall or ceiling, paint the patches first and then start at one end of the wall to do the rest. That way your patches shouldn't end up as shiny spots.
