Question:

I have 4 mushroom vents on the roof of my
home.I also have one of the turbine type
that spins constantly. There is also two vent
on the sides of the roof. My question is there
any heat loss there and should I cover any
of the vents just for the winter months.
I was thinking of covering up the turbine vent.
The house is 2050 square feet.

Answer:

Although I would cover up the turbine for the winter months, it isn't to preven heat loss but to keep the thing from getting damaged with winter ice and driven snow. Hopefully, your attic is insulated so the idea of heat loss from it is quite out of the quesiton.
