I have a prefab home which is about 20 -25 years old. i recently replaced the roof shingles and I noticed the eaves where droping down. When the contractor took the shingle off I lifted the hinge part of the roof and found that the hinge had some play in it. I also noticed that the main roof had a 2 x 6 all along the lenght of the house closing off all the air circulation to the main attic from the eaves.
question 1: Is this condition all right
Question 2: What can I do to correct it
Question 3: Vents or electric ventelators at each end of the house
You should need no electric venting. A house of that age has had be be designed with ventilation going up from the soffits to the main attic. The most I'd do to help the ventilation of the upper attic is to introduce a baffled ridge vent. You may have a bit of a problem installing it but its worth it.
