Question:

I recently purchased a new home (3 months ago) and just learned that the builder forgot to install roof ventilation. I have noticed some black/brown markings along the siding (vinyl) of my house and just wanted to know if this could be caused by the fact there's no ventilation on the roof. What other damages may have resulted from the fact that there has been no ventilation caps over the last 3 months...

Answer:

In the past three months nothing serious will have been caused by gthe lack of vents but I don't know that I'd want to go into summer that way. A baffled ridge vent would do your shingles and attic in general a lot of good.
