I am looking at having insulation blown into my attic. There is some existing knob and tube wirering that will get covered by the insulation. The insulation is somewhat damp when it is first blown in. Will this affect the wires?
Answer:
I've never run across this problem but I certainly would not want any form of moisture in the presence of wiring that may now be old enough to have lost some of the insulating wrap. You might also want to check with your insurance company as to the necessity of replacing the knob-and-tube conductors.
