A few seconds after we use our upstairs shower the sound of dripping water can be heard between the walls in our main floor washroom. This also happens when we flush the toilet (even the main floor toilet) and use the sinks. The odd thing is that there is no sign of water damage in the bathroom or in the basement. A plumber told us it might be the sound of the water in the pipe but I'm concerned. Any ideas?
Answer:
I have to agree with the plumber. Very possibly there is something in the main drain that has stuck to the side of the pipe and captures small amounts of water - just enough to drip for a couple of minutes after the main flow is gone.
