Question:

We had a bulldozer clear our backyard - leveling the ground and pulling up trees. The area that was cleared is 50 feet behind our septic tank - and where I thought our bed was. A portion of the back lot now has a 10 x 10 area that is wet (black water the dogs won't even drink) and it smells. Would this be the edge of our bed - and can we simply cover this with gravel and sand?

Answer:

You'll want someone from the local Department of the Environment in there to tell you how much damage was done and how to go about rectifying it. Sand and gravel will normally not do it unless there are calculations made as to how much of each.
