Question:

We have a country home near Maniwaki, Quebec on a lake and we have a problem with the basement in the summer.The basement floor is all ceramic tile, we have a bedroom family room ex. room and bathroom and when it is humid outside the ceramic tile sweats along the outside wall, My husband wants to dig along the walls and install a membrane to the wall, would there be another faster and cheaper way to fix this problem.

Answer:

If the water table is that high, about the only thing you can do is add more drainage tile and even that is, at best, of questionable value.
