i am looking to replace a electric water heater in my home. I also want to move it from its current position to another spot in the basement. If i was to replace it, what is the best option these days - as far as energy efficiency, ease of installation and cost? (gas, electric)? I have recently upgraded to a high eff furnace that is venting out the side of my house. Also, what about these tankless water heaters? Are these things for real?
Answer:
The tankless water heaters impress me more and more as I learn more about them. Other than that, Natural gas heated units seem to be the most efficient and least costly to operate. The re-location may be more complex and costly than you had planned though.
