Question:

My basement drain is full of water, flush with the floor, but not on the floor. Recently I had a humidifier installed and a new hose was put in the drain. I've never seen water before. Everyday I check to see if I have flooding. Should I be concerned?

Answer:

Try plunging it like you would the sink. Water should not be able to rise any higher than the bottom of the concrete floor slab.
