The faucet in the tub/shower started to drip. All but the stems were changed but the leaking continues. Is it necessary to change the stems? And now water is leaking into the basement after the shower has been on for at least 5 minutes. It appears to be clean water. There no leak when the tub is used and emptied. Help! What should be done?
Answer:
By the sound of it, you didn't make the stem nut tight enough when you replaced it. You shouldn't need replacement but something in there is loose and will have to be addressed before doing anything else.
