Our toilet makes a horrendous noise when you flush. We have a 4-level split house and the toilet is on the 4-level. We also have a toilet downstairs on the third level. It doesn't make any noise. Please can you explain? We think its air in the pipes but we tried everything, but it doesn't work.

There are probably a few bends in the drain line and it's plastic so there isn't enough bulk there to absorb the noise. You can try wrapping insulation around the drain line but even that won't make it as quiet as the downstairs one.
