I was replacing a sink in a plastic laminate counter and had difficlty trying to cut the adhesive around the sink, but while pushing up on the sink the laminate tore. How can I get it off to relace it? It likely has contact cement for an adhesive. The taps have supply lines dirctly from the spout to the 1/2 copper. Can these compression fittings be reused, I find they tend to leak, I like the flexable supply lines but how do you connect them to the 3/8 supply lines?
Answer:
Apply a heat gun to the platic laminate and the adhesive will give. It can all be removed more easily than it appears. The compression fittings are certainly re-usable but you should apply tephlon tape to the threads on the male portion to keep them from leaking.
